What is one to do when their journey has them on a collision course with pain and suffering? How does one prepare for such a situation? But more importantly, how does one move on in the moments following your scheduled strife. These are all valid questions to consider when life is winding up to pitch you a curveball.

As we navigate this field of possibilities called life, we are bound to walk into a storm every now and then. Some storms are quick and subtle, while others take some time and linger. We are inundated with warning signs after warning signs. A forecast so to speak of what is to come.

It goes without saying that these storms display very unique and distinct characteristics. Meaning it’s not the same thing over and over again. Even if it’s of similar type it’s usually never the same thing twice.

It’s human nature to become overwhelmed by the predicted outcome of any given situation. However, I want to encourage you to adjust your perspective. Once you get wind of an impending storm, Prepare! As the storm lands exercise Patience! Then, once it’s over Prosper on!

Prepare!

A once bright sunny day now sees darkness on its horizon. You get a heads up and have an undetermined period of time before the storm lands. Now you must prepare! Fortify your shelter, gather what resources you can, and make a plan.

If I could provide you an example, I would use the ever-common medical prognosis. A very common storm that we face is something of the medical variety. For some, what starts as a routine checkup turns into a matter of survival.

Should you find yourself in a situation where you have received some potentially distressing news about what life has in store for you, I want to encourage you not to panic. This is the time for rationalizing and fortifying. Overthinking and worrying can cause a great deal of stress and anxiety which serve to make the situation worse.

Gather what resources you can meaning establish a support network and other services that may be useful to you upon arrival of the storm. Finally have a plan of action. Structure and discipline are great tools to foster focus and drive. Granted sometimes things don’t go as planned, in these circumstances adjusting accordingly.

Patience!

After receiving your prognosis and doing what you can to prepare it is essential that you learn to exercise patience for yourself. As we are actively going through a storm a lot of times, we get anxious and overwhelmed with everything going on. We sometimes develop different feelings about ourselves based on where we stand as opposed to where we think we should stand.

In moments like this please be patient. Show yourself the same level of grace and mercy that you would anyone else stuck in your situation. Know that the body doesn’t heal overnight, a bank account takes time to grow, and relationships are forged by the small moments of connection that happen over time.

The gist of what I am saying is to learn to trust the process. For as long as you remain alive you retain the ability to redirect. However, it becomes increasingly difficult if you don’t develop a sense of patience for yourself beforehand.

They say patience is a virtue, I see it as one to be shared with others but most importantly with you. Sometimes you have to be still to make the most progress.

Prosper On!

Congratulations you have done the unthinkable, you survived the storm. The very one you were convinced was too much for you. The very storm you thought would damage your foundation beyond repair. The very storm that would claim so many others, yet you still stand. This my friends is called prosperity! Prosperity is favor and favor is victory!

Now that you are through the storm it’s time for you to prosper on. Learn what life looks like for you in this new space and then begin to move. Get to a place where you can plant yourself and grow. Know that you have the ability to weather these storms as they come for that’s your strength on display.

Do not let the circumstances of your situation break you down. Instead figure out a way to turn a negative to a positive. Progress is key, yet progress is not always so grandiose. Sometimes it’s subtle and barely noticeable to the average observer. However, it’s a milestone for you and at the end of it all that’s what matters.

Growing through what you go through positions you in a place to make a difference. For the light of your prosperity acts as a beacon of hope for those you never knew were watching. That’s why no matter the outcome you have to prosper on!

In Closing

When faced with a forecast so heavy it threatens to change your life forever, what do you do? The first thing is to prepare, this is the time to get yourself in the right mindset for what is to come. Next you must learn to exercise patience, give yourself a wide birth of grace and mercy. Last and most important you must prosper on, redefine what your life looks like after the storm and learn to trek on. Life can be scary for life is unpredictable. However, if you learn how to prepare, be patient, and prosper on you will taste victory more often than not. Remember God’s in control, now go forward and be blessed. You Got This!!!
