Long ago before the clock began to tick, a journey was laid out. Everything from the beginning to end and all of the stops in between were mapped out. Then came the key component of this journey…you. You hold more value and more significance than you ever imagined and this journey had to be taken by you as there was no other choice.
As humans we are sometimes incapable of understanding things the way we should. We often ask questions like, why me, and how could this happen? Where we think oops, God thinks right on schedule. You and I were chosen to be where we are for our lives have meaning. And what a lot of us don’t understand is that it has to be you as there is no other choice.
Most of us don’t see it now, some of us do yet we choose to ignore it. At the end of the day, you are who you are, but the point is to be who you were meant to be. Take some time and get a better understanding of your potential for greatness.
I keep saying that there is no other choice as there is only one you. You, who are uniquely special and designed for a purpose greater than your understanding sometimes. But because you are you, sometimes that is just what the doctor ordered in a manner of speaking.
Know that your actions and choices are integral to your trajectory in life but that they don’t unqualify you from that which is to be yours. Get to a place where you can see the value in yourself. Acknowledge the significance of where you are. And finally walk with purpose on purpose because there is no other choice.
Value

Far too many of us go through life unaware of just how special we are. For one reason or another we are so accustomed to self-deprecation that some of our first instincts are to tear ourselves down. The world doesn’t see value in you because validation was never it’s to give.
Know that before you took your first step and said your first word you were infinitely more valuable than any material thing that exists. Life is precious because like a baby life is fragile. You only get one shot at this sandbox and a lot of us spend it digging ourselves into holes we may not be able to climb out of.
One of my favorite examples of value comes from the Bible in the form of David. Here you had just a common little shepherd boy who probably had no clue what he was actually worth. This boy would go on to slay giants and rule over the unified tribes of Israel.
This by no means made David a perfect human being for he was just flawed as the next man. Difference was that his value did not come from his title or feats. Instead, it came from God above. As the author of many of the book of Psalms David is considered a man after God’s own heart and that’s even after you factor in his mortal flaws.
Understand that you are too special to throw your life away for trivial things. Likewise, you are too important to sit around and do nothing. Sometimes laziness can be just as bad as recklessness. Despite what you may have been told the truth is that you were destined for greatness.
Your propensity for being human doesn’t take away your value if anything it refines it as you are uniquely crafted. A soul meant to fill a void with its one-of-a-kind presence. I want to encourage you to take some time to understand how valuable you are and how who you are matters, so why not try to be all you can be.
Where you are

Sometimes it goes without saying that we are not where we want to be. But I’m going to challenge you to adjust your perspective and think less about where you want to be and more about where you need to be. Life can be random but I don’t believe it’s coincidence that we end up in some of the places we do.
I believe it’s all a part of the plan. For you are there for a reason. Maybe there’s progress to made, wisdom to be gleaned, or growth to be had. All of which wouldn’t be a thing if you ended up where you wanted. However, a lot of us often indirectly self-sabotage by fighting where we are rather than making the best of it for the time you have to be there.
I’m reminded of Joseph who would come to find himself in a place that I don’t think anyone would want to be in. First enslaved then soon imprisoned one could argue that Joseph was in a bad place. As the story goes, he eventually had the opportunity to utilize his gifts to aid the pharaoh which would soon place him in a position of power.
You see Joseph’s very obvious unfortunate placement was a pivotal part of his journey as it was the bridge to his destiny. Who’s to say that his life would have gone that way without being placed in that position. He sat where he did because his life had a purpose and there was no other choice. His bondage would lead to the survival of so many in the not-so-distant future.
My point is to encourage you not to discredit where you may find yourself in this season or in seasons to come. As your placement is pivotal for the journey at hand. In no way am I saying you have to like it, what I am saying is to understand it for what it is. The beauty is that where you are now you will not be there forever. Once the time comes and that season ends you will move on to the next chapter.
Purpose

Once you start to get a better understanding of the journey you are on you should then begin to move with purpose on purpose. Basically, what I refer to is to bring some direction to where you are trying to go. Not saying that there won’t still be moments when you are just moving and it won’t always have to do with your purpose.
However, once you get through the moments continue to be as purposeful as possible as it relates to your journey.
In the early years of Egypt, a man named Moses would find himself chosen by God for what most people would consider an impossible task. He was tasked with leading an entire group of people out of bondage and to their freedom. Although he had his own personal doubts he began to trust in the Lord and move with purpose.
His mission was simple and his actions were precise and with help from the Lord he was able to liberate the Israelites from their oppression and across the Red Sea to their freedom. However, it’s their own shortcomings that would delay their arrival to the promised land. But for what it’s worth Moses walked in his purpose and did what was required of him as there was no other choice.
Though you may not be able to see it now know there is a purpose for you being where you are. It is my prayer that you don’t have to search long for that purpose and that once you figure it out that you walk in it boldly and pun intended, purposefully. Take solace in the fact that like Moses should there be any areas where you may feel like you are not ready to walk in your purpose, they will be met by compensation from God.
In Closing
Long before there was a now there was a thought of you. A unique individual whose journey is more important than its given credit for. Understand your value as you are priceless and irreplaceable in the eyes of God. Pay attention to where you are as the rooms you currently occupy are littered with purpose, lessons and growth. Finally, come to understand your purpose and do your best to walk in it. With every day bringing new challenges know that you are enough to overcome them as victory was meant for you as there is no other choice. Go forward and be blessed. You Got This!!!
